Expo Tales _ Commissioned by Regione Lombardia

I took these pictures during the expo in Milan 20015 . Based on a work objectives of the Charter of Milan, the idea born from the concept of citizenship glocal. Otto Bitjoka, entrepreneur of Cameroonian  nationality, he was coordinator of the table ” A cultural crossroads: foreign communities at Expo 2015″ The focus is on developing the concept of immigration in the context of global mobility. “In Expo Milan 2015, citizens of the world become major players,” Bitjoka says, “as dynamic agents who make it possible for the participating countries to unite with their communities in Italy.” In this process of becoming a glocal citizen, we need to successfully develop the role of immigrants in the region along with their capacity to create wealth. The  citizens of the world are the subjet  in this photo project, with their traditional clothes that distinguish peoples and cultures around the world. The traditional clothing tell the story in the past, are instruments of information on people who wear them and  are a priceless cultural wealth. The traditional dress, becomes an  icon of a new concept of mobility of people today more than ever moving in the world that seems to be getting smaller.

Expo Tales “6 photographers for 6 months of Milan Expo 2015”

Edited by Regione Lombardia

The goal is to tell the story of Lombardy throgh the six months of the Milan expo 2015. This is done from the perspective of the six photographers and artist who, using their lenses and their own awareness, were able to capture, each for one of the six months of the Expo, faces, places, seasons and architectural highlights. In a world, they photographerd the spirit that brought the Universal Exposition to life. This wonderful book, with its clear goal, was somenthing the regional government specifically desired and created so that images, filled with beauty and suggestion, could explain what Expo meant to our land and, especially, what our land gave to Expo: food, flavours, aromas, culture, beauty, design, meetings, projects, commitment, solidariety, ideas and hope.

Humankind and nature are placed together harmoniously in an intense explosionof colour as the photographer explores, very personally, the question of biodiversity. Expo Milan 2015, become the ideal set to reproduce the delicate balance that links the earth to the people who live on it. The incredible variety of species and envoironments is reflected in the face and in the colours of the traditional outfits, creating a series of differences that even include the observer’s gaze. This is the perfect conclusion to a tale in photos that looks confidently to the future.
