Liquid Memories
This project stems from the need to embark on a journey back in time where places dear to me become a space of memory. In this project, photographs and words taken from some love letters represent a hypothetical dialogue between two people who will never be able to meet again. The lake is a place to find each other, a small universe balanced between present and past, where love and death silently chase each other. The cosmos sparkles in these waters, igniting memories. Moments of love slip away into a reality that merges with dreams. These are Liquid Memories that mutate on the surface of the water and dissolve into the depths of the soul in a state filled with peace.
This book is handmade a traditional Japanese tecnique.
Questo progetto nasce dall’esigenza di fare un viaggio a ritroso nel tempo dove luoghi a me molto cari diventano spazio della memoria. In questo progetto le immagini fotografiche e le parole tratte da alcune lettere d’amore rappresentano un ipotetico dialogo tra due persone che non potranno più incontrarsi. Il lago è luogo dove ritrovarsi, un piccolo universo in bilico tra presente e passato, dove amore e morte si rincorrono in silenzio. Brilla il cosmo in queste acque e i ricordi si accendono. Istanti d’amore scivolano via in una realtà che si confonde con il sogno. Sono Memorie Liquide che mutano sulla superficie dell’acqua e si dissolvono nelle profondità dell’animo in uno stato colmo di pace.
Questo libro è stato realizzato a mano con la tecnica della legatoria giapponese.

“(I)Sola is a photographic project born during a journey and takes shape through a series of diptychs composed of two polaroids that capture the sea and the sky in a continuous relationship where the elements lose their boundaries until they merge into one another. The sense of disorientation and amazement accompanies these photographs where water is the true protagonist. Everything transforms, slips away only to return in another form. It’s a poetic tale of visions far removed from reality. It’s the wonder of the unexpected, of endless beauty, of peace. This journey is the search for an island that is not found in this vast sea but within oneself.
This book is handmade in nobiru gajo style, a traditional Japanese tecnique. Thanks to is shape it can be read in a perpetual circular mode.
(I)Sola è un progetto fotografico nato in viaggio e prende forma attraverso alcuni dittici composti da due polaroid che catturano il mare e il cielo in una continua relazione dove gli elementi perdono i propri confini fino a confondersi l’una nell’altro. Il senso di smarrimento e stupore accompagna queste fotografie dove l’acqua è la vera protagonista. Tutto si trasforma, scivola via per poi tornare sotto un’altra forma. E’ un racconto poetico che narra di visioni lontane dalla realtà. E’ la ricerca dell’inaspettato, della bellezza senza fine, di pace. Questo viaggio è la ricerca di un’isola che non si trova in questo immenso mare ma dentro se stessi.
Questo libro è stato realizzato a mano nello stile nobiru gajo, una tecnica della legatoria giapponese . La sua forma permette una lettura circolare.

The novel of nature
Between performing art and photography, Michela Taeggi creates a visual novel with a theatrical flavour based on the primitive bond between man and nature, considered as a source of creativity and beauty, which develops over psychological as well as temporal seasons.
The project consists of a photographic volume printed on recycled paper and an exhibition consisting of a series of fine art printsin a limited edition of 5.
Tra performing art e fotografia Michela Taeggi realizza un romanzo visivo dal sapore teatrale basato sul legame primitivo tra uomo e natura, considerata come fonte di creatività e bellezza, che si sviluppa su stagioni psicologiche oltre che temporali.
Il progetto consiste in un volume fotografico stampato su carta riciclata e in una mostra composta da una serie di immagini fine art in edizione limitata di 5 esemplari.

I don’t sleep, I take care of the roses
It was summer of 1967, in an old photograph, dad posed in front of the open window overlooking the panorama of his beloved mountains, and in front of him, on the windowsill, stood a vase overflowing with pink flowers. And then a gesture, reverential: a hand caressing the flowers as if to protect all the beauty of the world. Then a sentence uttered like the most ancient of poems: “I don’t sleep, I take care of the roses.” These pages are the short story of a life and an imaginary garden, far away, where a father and a daughter will always be able to meet.
Era l’estate del 1967, papà posava davanti alla finestra aperta sul panorama delle sue amate montagne e davanti a lui, sul davanzale, si trovava un vaso traboccante di fiori rosa. E poi un gesto, reverenziale: una mano accarezzava i fiori come a proteggere tutta la bellezza del mondo. Poi una frase pronunciata come il più antico dei poemi : “ Io non dormo curo le rose”. Queste pagine sono il breve racconto di una vita e di un giardino immaginario, lontano, dove un padre e una figlia potranno sempre incontrarsi.
